In the sermon on Sunday I shared the following quote. It is enormously convicting to me personally. I am reminded that my walk must match my talk. I must live daily - in real and tangible ways - what I willingly say that I believe.
“An intelligent observer who heard the Sunday morning sermon and later watched the Sunday afternoon conduct of those who had listened to that sermon would conclude that he had been examining 2 distinct and contrary groups of people. Christians habitually weep and pray over beautiful biblical truths only to draw back from those same truths when it comes to the difficult job of putting them into practice. It seems that too many Christians want to enjoy the thrill of feeling right but are not willing to endure the inconvenience of living right. … In that great and terrible day when the deeds of men are searched by the judge of all the earth, what will we answer when we are charged with such inconsistency and moral fraud?”
--A.W. Tozier
This has definitely led me to spend more time in prayer! I praise God that I have forgiveness in Jesus. I praise God that I have the power and encouragement of the Holy Spirit to help me live an obedient life. I praise God that He pours love in to my life in countless ways!
